Hospital Pharmacy OS, feature by feature.

A modern user interface dashboard for a hospital pharmacy software on a tablet on a pharmacy counter

Most product feature lists look like they were written by a committee of product managers trying to win a checklist comparison.

We didn't build Hospital Pharmacy OS that way. Every single button, database field, and message alert exists because we watched a pharmacist struggle at the counter during real billing hours.

Here is the system we built—explained feature by feature, and the exact observation that made us build it.

1. Live Inventory Management

  • The Problem: We watched a pharmacy manager spend three hours every Sunday counting strips of medicine by hand because the physical stock never matched the software’s computer records.
  • The Solution: An inventory ledger designed specifically for the speed of a hospital counter. Stock depletes automatically as transactions clear. If a strip of medicine is returned, it is restored to inventory with a single tap.

2. GST-Compliant Billing

  • The Problem: At the end of every month, the pharmacy owner had to reconstruct their GST returns using paper receipt duplicates because their legacy software didn't calculate tax slabs correctly.
  • The Solution: Real-time, automatic tax classification built into the checkout. The system handles CGST, SGST, and IGST mapping as a byproduct of normal billing. The monthly return is compiled automatically, ready to export for the accountant.

3. Drugs & Cosmetics Act Compliance

  • The Problem: The law requires a handwritten prescription register for Schedule H and Schedule X drugs. Pharmacists were filling this in manually at midnight, hours after closing the shop.
  • The Solution: A prescription ledger that populates itself. When billing a restricted drug, the pharmacist is prompted to enter the prescribing doctor's name. The system generates the legally required digital register automatically.

4. WhatsApp Alerts for Expiry & Reorder

  • The Problem: We watched an owner phone the pharmacy counter at 9 PM to ask if their batch of Paracetamol was expiring soon. There was no way to know without opening a cabinet and checking the date on each box.
  • The Solution: The system actively monitors batch expiry dates and stock levels. When a batch is 30 days from expiring, or when stock drops below a safe reorder threshold, a notification lands on the owner's WhatsApp. No dashboard checking required.

5. Remote Owner Dashboards

  • The Problem: Owners who manage multiple clinics or pharmacies had no way to see daily sales without physically standing at the counter or demanding phone updates from their staff.
  • The Solution: A mobile-first dashboard that loads instantly in any browser. The owner can check live revenue, top-selling drugs, and counter traffic from anywhere, in real time.

Every feature we build is designed to protect the attention of the person running the counter.

We didn't set out to build the most complex software system in the world. We set out to build the most useful one.
